A leaking watermain can start as a small wet patch in the lawn — but it often turns into low water pressure, high water bills, and repeated plumbing repairs.
In many older Auckland homes, especially those built before the 1970s, the original watermains were installed using galvanised steel or early plastic piping. These could now be over 50 years old and well past their expected life span.

If your property still has galvanised water pipe, replacing it before it fails can prevent emergency callouts and property damage.
Locating the Source - Leak Detection
A great example of leak detecting is a job we did for a school who called us about this leak (image above). What you might not see in the photo are the several cracks in the asphalt where water was seeping from. Using our listening equipment we were able to pinpoint the location of the leak accurately and mark it as it was tracking further from the source of the leak.
We quoted the client and on approval attended with the correct equipment to excavate and repair the leak. We were also able to arrange reinstatement of the asphalt.

Leak Detection equipment takes most of the guess work out of it – although sometimes for various reasons it’s not possible to locate the leak - thick concrete, ambient noise from busy roads/machinery etc, or it's too deep or leak is too small to hear it trickling.
